Rodde mine - Guided tours - 1h
Equipped as real ones and in company of a geologist, trace back the XIXth century miners who came to extract antimony and silver-bearing lead. Your time travel will transport you back to 2000 years ago!
Can you smell it ? …walk forwards slowly in the dark circuit through 200 m of totally safe galeries. Do feel the mine atmosphere and remind you the tough labour of our ancestors in a priviledged site.
On course of the circuit, you will be guides by the enthusiast's explanations who will tell you about the minerals in their geological background.

Pargeat Windmill - Guided tours - 3/4h
Among 10 windmills which could be found in Ally during the XIXth century, 7 have survived. A unique concentration of mills in France.
Presently, 5 are being restored and will be settled to welcome you according to their own style : 2 moulins-gîtes, 1scenic mill, 1 wordmill and Pargeat mill , a genuine « living-mill », an ecomuseum which is now opening its doors :
Much more than a simple tour, it stands as a à la carte welcome plus far fetched comments … such an occasion to spend a clever time. Discover the whole ingenuity of its wooden mechanism dating from 1817, as well as its miller's real task , genuine winds tamer.

Ally-Mercoeur WINDPOWER PARK
« Ally,from ancient mills… to modern windmills. »
Here, the men have always succeeded in adapting themselves and in getting benefit from natural resources around them : earth, water and wind. The installation of 26 windmills
( 85m high mast) 1.5 MW each.
Palaeontology Museum at Chilhac
Exhibition of vertebrate fossils remains (elephants, mastodons, rhinocerus, cervidae, bears, tigers…) dating 1 900 000 years ago as well as worked pebbles which tend to prove hominid's early presence. A 20 minutes diaporama traces back the site history, the work on the spot and in the laboratory.

Haut-Allier Birds House at Lavoûte-Chilhac
Welcome Site for the Birds Protection League. Numerous new exhibitions with a faithful re-forming of forty prestigious species living in the middle of frescoes and a setting representing Allier gorges. A fim showed on a large screen in a gallery will allow you to discover these birds in a natural background. A LPO host proposes 3 ou 4 excursions « nature » each week (summer time). Excursions are planned as well in spring and in autumn.
